New Era on Killer Tofu

Going off the energy from posting my resolution post, I have revamped the website. Back-end mostly, so it will look the same to most of you, but some very important changes which will allow me to share more and more frequently with all of you!

I have the site separated into 3 parts now: Main, Mini, and Share. I will go over what each one is and how to get to them.

Main

This is pretty simple, same great stuff you have been experiencing, same way to experience it. Just go to the main site.

KT Mini

One thing that has plagued me for a while is not posting short articles or just pictures. I have missed so much stuff to share with you guys because I didn’t want to interrupt the long-form writing. This is where I will post photos or short thoughts that I want to keep around and you guys can see them. This means more frequent updates. These will not appear on the main site, but can be accessed at:

KT Share

This is my Tumblr replacement because I don’t like Tumblr. This is where I will put all the stuff I find all over the net that I want to share with you fine folks. Really, think Tumblr. Like KT Mini these will not show up on the main page. They can be accessed at:

Fitness

This is per my goals on the resolution post. I will be keeping track of my fitness here. These WILL appear on my main page so you don’t have to do anything special to see them. If you would like to see them condensed or only want to look at that portion of the site you can find it at:

Those are the main additions, that are relevant to you guys. If you go to the blog page and check the side I have added RSS feeds. If you use Google Reader or any other RSS reader to look at content on the web, I have separated all the new stuff into feeds. There are feeds for the main site, mini, and share, or you can get all posts in one convenient feed.

All updates will be posted to Twitter and subsequently Facebook so those are also places to find new content. I am excited for what this means for sharing stuff with you and hopefully this whole thing will become more interactive. As always, please comment here (preferably) or on Facebook and Twitter. What do you guys think of the additions? Any suggestions? 2012 is going to be awesome, not just for me, but for the site as well.

 

P.S. iOS users should go to http://www.killertofu.com and add it to their homescreen to see the sweet new icon. Also, the mobile site is up again and working better than ever.

On Upcoming Content.

This isn’t going to be a long one, just an update to tell you what will be happening shortly. I am currently between computers, but when I get one that is half-way decent I will be able to really get going on this new content. I recently bought a new camera! My first new one in 7 years if you can believe that. It is the most budget, but it does do one thing well and that is video. Luckily, purposefully, that is why I bought it. I will be starting a new piece here on the blog called “A Week in Video” in which I will splice, edit, mash, and extrude any and all videos I find worthy that were taken during the week. It won’t be every week, but I am trying to make it a regular occurrence. I have enough footage for about 3 videos now, but the computer I’m on can’t handle all the H’s and D’s it was shot in so I will have to keep stockpiling it.

Second, there is a pretty neat concept in the works that I will be partaking in when everyone’s computer isn’t broken called “24-Hour Blog Day.” To my knowledge this started as a joke off of the 24-Hour Comic Book Day, but it has kind of manifested itself into something real. Basically it’s 24 blog posts written in 24-Hours with topics that are far-reaching, random, and most importantly, chosen by the participants. It should be a good time.

Just keep checking back; I still have loads to write about, and stay tuned for the new content. Killer Tofu is still finishing 2010 with a bang.

Killer Tofu is now Mobile Friendly!

I do quite a bit of mobile browsing myself. Sitting in bed surfing the Internet is quite fulfilling believe it or not. I decided to look into making my site a little bit more friendly for the mobile crowd. Luckily it didn’t actually take all that long to do thanks to the WordPress mobile plug-in. I just dropped it in and poof! K-T automatically detects if it’s a mobile browser and adjusts accordingly. I also made a nifty icon that will appear if you try to add it to the home screen of an iPod Touch or iPhone. I have included photos below. Killer-Tofu: opinions and useless information, now mobile.
